Whether you’re caring for someone or looking for something to make your own day easier, you’re in the right place. This page will help you find what you need.
What This Site Is
Adaptive Living Aids is a guide to products that make daily life safer and easier, from walkers and wheelchairs to bathroom safety, eating aids, and dressing aids. I’m Ron. I spent six years caring for my dad, a WWII veteran, and most of what I write comes from what we actually used, what worked, and what didn’t.
This site isn’t just for seniors. It’s for anyone whose body isn’t working the way it used to, whether that’s from age, arthritis, Parkinson’s, a stroke, an injury, or anything else, and for the people who help them.
Not Sure Where to Start?
- Trouble walking or keeping your balance? Start with the [Mobility Aids guide].
- Worried about falls in the bathroom? See [Bathroom Safety].
- Struggling with everyday tasks like eating, dressing, or reaching? Try [Daily Living Aids for Independence].
- Wondering if Medicare will pay for it? Read [Does Medicare Cover Walkers?].
- Caring for someone and feeling overwhelmed? My [Caregiving] posts are written for you.
How Buying Works Here
I don’t sell anything directly. When I recommend a product, I link to stores like Amazon where you can buy it. If you buy through one of those links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That’s how this site stays running. You can read more in my [Affiliate Disclosure].
For questions about an order, shipping, or returns, contact the store you bought from. They handle all of that.
Common Questions
Is this medical advice?
No. I share what I learned as a caregiver, not as a doctor or therapist. Talk to your doctor or physical therapist before choosing equipment, especially after a fall or surgery.
How do you choose what to recommend?
I look for products that are safe, practical, and fairly priced, and I lean on what I saw work in real life with my dad.
Can you help me pick a product?
I can’t give personal medical guidance, but I’m happy to point you to the right article. Send me a message.
